Since our last product update in March, we've continued to invest in making EzeScan more connected, more efficient, and easier to deploy across modern business environments. This release introduces powerful new integration capabilities, enhanced cloud connectivity, and a range of customer-driven improvements across our desktop and server products.

Connect EzeScan to More Systems Than Ever Before

The standout enhancement in this release is the introduction of Generic REST API and Web Service Integration Support. As organisations adopt an increasing number of cloud and line-of-business applications, the ability to connect systems quickly and efficiently has never been more important. This new capability enables EzeScan to integrate with virtually any application that exposes a REST API or web service, opening the door to new automation opportunities without requiring a dedicated connector.

Multi-Threaded PDF Rendering for Faster Imports

A close second is our much-improved PDF Import functionality, now supports utilising render workers to perform multi-threaded rendering of PDF document pages as they are imported into EzeScan Batches. Our testing has shown significant improvements are available on suitable hardware. For example, with 4 render workers enabled, the import processing time to import large PDF files is drastically reduced, and the render step was more than 3 times faster. This feature nicely complements the recently added option to use render workers when creating output PDF documents. So turn on Render Workers, use 4 or more, and sit back and watch how fast the PDF importing and PDF creation now runs. Take a look at ‘render workers' documentation in the online documentation for more detailed information.

More Flexible Discovery OCR Behaviour

Resellers have been asking for an improvement to our Discovery module. We’ve listened and are pleased to announce that Discovery OCR behaviour can now be selected at the profile level, not just at the KFI level. This new option makes it easier to manipulate the OCR behaviour of one Discovery profile, without inadvertently breaking other profiles.

Other Key Small Enhancements

Alongside this major new integration capability, we've delivered a range of enhancements to our core desktop and server platform. After feedback from customers, we’ve updated our Delete Blank Pages functionality, to provide an option to retain at least 1 blank page in a document when there are no other pages with content in the document. Our Folder Import functionality has been reworked to make it easier to restrict polling to a number of sub folders at a time.  Our excel Spreadsheet import renderer now automatically cleans rogue excel spreadsheets where the sheet columns and rows contain thousands of blank rows. We’ve also enhanced our output PDF renderer to better handle PDF/A conversion when the PDF contains prohibited text entries.

Expanded Cloud Connectivity with Amazon S3

We're also continuing to strengthen our cloud integration capabilities with the addition of Amazon S3 support. Customers can now send documents directly to Amazon S3 buckets or retrieve documents from existing AWS storage environments, making it easier to incorporate EzeScan into cloud-first document workflows. This enhancement provides AWS customers with the same level of seamless cloud storage integration already available through our Microsoft Azure Storage connector.

Integration Updates

We're continuing to expand and enhance our integrations to help customers get even more value from their existing business systems. From finance and document management platforms to legal solutions, our latest updates focus on improving automation, simplifying processes, strengthening compatibility, and supporting organisations as they transition to newer cloud and enterprise applications. Here's a look at what's new across our integration portfolio.

Finance Systems - We're continuing to strengthen our finance integrations to support customers through platform upgrades and day-to-day processing improvements. Our new Civica Authority Altitude Connector makes it easier for organisations to transition from Civica Authority Purchases to the newer Altitude platform, while updates to our TechnologyOne Financials CiA integration now allow users to perform Supplier Bank Account searches directly within EzeScan WebApps. We've also updated time format handling to align with the latest TechnologyOne specifications, ensuring ongoing compatibility and a seamless user experience.

Document Management Systems - Our ongoing investment in document and records management integrations continues with enhancements across several leading platforms. For OpenText Content Manager (TRIM), we've added support for Record Actions within the upload connector and resolved a multi-threading issue reported by some customers, improving both automation and stability. We've also enhanced our Objective Nexus integration to support the creation of Virtual Files during upload, and we're pleased to confirm that EzeScan has been tested and certified for compatibility with Laserfiche 12.0, giving customers confidence when upgrading to the latest release.

Legal Systems - We're continuing to improve automation for our legal sector customers with enhancements to our iManage Work integration. We now support a Default operator to be configured for sub folder and workspace tab creation in document upload. This improves automation by creating new folders or workspaces on the fly without needing to use the iManage GUI to do it.
